Amb. Dr. Husam Zomlot
Ambassador Dr. Husam S. Zomlot currently serves as the Head of the PLO General Delegation to
the United States. He is also strategic advisor to Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas. Dr. Zomlot’s official roles include Ambassador-at-large for the Palestinian Presidency as well as Charge de Affairs of the Palestinian mission to the United Kingdom.
He was elected to the Fatah Council as director of its Foreign Relations Commission. Dr. Husam Zomlot was previously professor of public policy at Birzeit University, where he cofounded and chaired the Birzeit School of Government. He has held teaching and research positions at both Harvard University and the University of London. His professional involvements include working as an economist for the United Nations, economic researcher with the London School of Economics as well the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute. Ambassador Husam S. Zomlot holds a PhD in Economics from the University of London. He is married and has two children.
