Dr. Mustafa Barghouti
Mustafa Barghouti is a Palestinian physician, activist, and politician who serves as general secretary of the Palestine National Initiative. He has been a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council since 2006 and is also a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Council. In 2007, Barghouti was minister of information in the Palestinian unity government. In 1991, Dr. Barghouti was a delegate to the Madrid Conference, which was held with the aim of ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the first intifada. Dr. Barghouti was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2010.
