Anti-Zionism v. Anti-Semitism: What’s the difference, and why do Zionist activists conflate the two?

Zionism is the root of Palestinian oppression. In US political and media discourse, anti-Zionism is oftentimes conflated with anti-Semitism, although they have nothing in common. The former represents opposition to a settler-colonial project, whereas the latter represents bigotry and hatred against the Jewish people.
